GRASCHE was founded as a saw plate manufacturer in Remscheid, Germany. The company exported saw plates to the United States for many years.

1979
GRASCHE was founded in Hickory, North Carolina, where it began manufacturing saw plates locally.

1993
The first laser-cutting equipment was installed at GRASCHE, optimizing our saw plate manufacturing capabilities.

2001
GRASCHE constructed an advanced, 30,000-sq.-ft. saw plate manufacturing facility, enabling the company to continue increasing its market share.

2010
GRASCHE USA Inc. was purchased by Klaus Jensen and Michael Downing to become a US privately owned independent company.

2014
GRASCHE USA Inc. becomes the exclusive North American representative for the Ceratizit Group, a manufacturer of highly specialized cutting tools, indexable inserts and carbide rods.

GRASCHE USA Inc. was purchased by its current management team Richard Comer and Justin Mecimore and remains a privately owned independent company.

Today
GRASCHE USA Inc. manufactures saw plates for the most challenging, precision applications in the wood, construction, ferrous, and non-ferrous industries. In addition to circular plates, GRASCHE manufactures customized laser-cut parts to meet our customers' specific needs.
Richard Comer began his career more than 25 years ago, working for leading domestic and European carbide manufacturers in the distribution of carbide and diamond plates to saw and cutting-tool manufacturers in North America. With experience in CNC machinery and cutting-tool technical sales, he gained a broad knowledge of the cutting-tool industry, equipping him perfectly to lead GRASCHE USA into the future.
Justin Mecimore began his career with GRASCHE USA nine years ago, after graduating from Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting. He began in the accounting department and, working his way up to vice president of finance, proved to have the skills necessary to be a successful business leader for GRASCHE USA.
